Mayweather-Marquez: All of That Hype for This?
Another waste of boxing fans’ time.

The way this fight was billed, you would think it would at least be competitive. You would be wrong. It bore more of a resemblance to a WWE match Mayweather might have not that long ago participated in. Predetermined. At least a wrestling entertainment might have been interesting; this was not. Mayweather was bigger, stronger, faster. He simply outclassed an opponent he by all rights should have. And it was boring. It appeared that this mismatch might at least provide an interesting knock out when marquez was floored with a left hook, but no such luck.
Some credit ought to go to Marquez for being on his feet as the final bell rang, but I am loathe to give even that based on Mayweather’s lackluster performance. It was, through and through, a genuinely boring fight.
The after fight was at least mildly amusing, witha bit of a post fight scuffle between Mayweather and Bernard Hopkins. Floyd got in a nice little sound bite, telling Max Kellerman “Let me do the talking. You talk too much.”
All in all, the fight sucked. We can only hope that on the near horizon, we will see Mayweather fight someone who represents actual competition; Manny Pacquiao and Sugar Shane Mosley are waiting in the wings.

I’m waiting to see Pacquaio and Mayweather on the ring! Marquez drank his own urine, but the results didn’t came out! too bad!

And he even bragged that the winner should be the true pound-for-pound king. That’s a letdown as he can’t knock down an obviously smaller opponent. Manny would have taken him on if Floyd wasn’t too greedy for money!
Pacquiao vs Mayweather is I guess a looming mismatch in favor of Mayweather. He’s a way taller and bigger than Pacquiao.
I’m not a fan of this sport, so I dont know much about either of them. But a good write.
