Laila Ali is Still Number One in Women’s Boxing

What happen to the noise of women’s boxing? I do not hear anything anymore about women’s boxing on television broadcast. Laila Ali had the sound of women boxing (the cheers of the big crowds, and the publicity in the news) so stirred up and excited that her fight had to be aired on television in my opinion. See, it was her boxing that was so great, although she had the name, “Ali”. If she wasn’t so great in boxing, it would not have mattered. People would have said, “Oh, that’s Muhammad Ali’s daughter, and she is not all that great. She cannot fight.”

Laila Ali would have been just like Freeda George Forman. You would have not known that she was even boxing if she did not box the way that she did. If Laila had not been so great, she probably would have been another drop out like Jacqueline Frazier. After Laila fought her, you just did not hear about Jacqueline anymore. I think she was good enough to have kept on trying. Jacqueline should have challenged Laila again. I think that Freeda Forman should have given Laila Ali a try too with the strength that she had. All three of these women are mothers and can do many things. However, Laila Ali is still number one in women’s boxing. She stayed into the ring a long time, and did not seem to drop out as fast as other women boxers. Sometimes it seemed that they were not getting the respect that they deserved as women. I guess Freeda and Jacqueline saw it coming and they just quit. Laila kept on for a longer time.

Now that Laila is out of the ring, I do not hear much of anything. Where is Christy Martin? In the Google news, I still read a little about Ann Wolfe. She’s the Mike Tyson of women’s boxing, but the noise just isn’t the same when Laila was around. My father is still sick about Laila not fighting Ann. Ann Wolfe is a great boxer, but it must be boring to stand alone with one killer nock-out punch. I still read about Laila in the news a lot, but it’s not about women’s boxing. I can feel the emptiness without Laila. There is still headlines for women’s boxing online, but it’s just not the same as it was when we had Laila Ali.

As far as television goes, women’s boxing should be aired on television. The women wrestling is on television although it’s fake, but women can still get hurt. They are shown with the men. They talk about women’s boxing like women are so fragile and shouldn’t be boxing. Women should not do a lot of things but it’s 2009. Come on. I think it’s ridiculous not to put women’s boxing on the air. This is the reason why I say that Laila is number one. She was opening doors for women’s boxing while she was in the ring. Laila felt that their was no more to do and she was tired. It’s very tiresome to have to struggle to prove a point. I think Laila Ali proved her point that women’s boxing should be televised. Laila Ali is still number one in women’s boxing.
