Amir Khan: The Real Deal?
Having watched Amir Khan fight Barrera, this is my opinion.

Amir Khan is the next great British hope. Of that there is no doubt. Unfortunately I don’t believe the hype. After watching his latest display against the legend that is Marco Antonio Barrera, I remain unconvinced. Contrary to all the drooling being done by the Sky Sports commentators, I am sure that had there not been an awful clash of heads in the first round, this fight would have been completely different.
Barrera had to contend with blood pouring into his left eye to such an extent that he could not see out of it. It is a testament to Barrera that he continued when all around him were advising against it. He knew in his heart that he could beat Khan. He also knew that Khans punches were not causing him any harm.
I would dearly love to see a re-match, something that I dont think will happen, as a fully fit, uncut and hungry Barrera would end Khans attempt to win a world title. Khan is being touted as a world beater and I sincerely hope he achieves all his goals, however there can be no real claims to having beaten a legend until they fight again. Then and only then will we find out if Amir Khan is the real deal or not.
