The 7′6″ giant center, Yao Ming, has officially retired from the NBA after 8 injury plagued seasons. It’s not like this was a big shocker to anyone; we could definitely see this coming one of these days. Yao had been thrashed around ever since he stepped foot onto an NBA court as he picked up numerous injuries and missed 180 games in his shortened 8 year season.

But Yao isn’t to blame for his early retirement, it’s not his fault. The true culprit is none other than his left foot. Yao Ming’s left foot was the main recpient of the majority of his injuries. In 2005, Yao Ming was diagnosed with osteomyelitis in that left foot. In 2006, Yao broke his left foot. Finally, in 2011, Yao Ming fractured his left foot. All in all, Yao was plagued by lower body injuries; especially involving his left foot.

So basketball fans worldwide, don’t blame Yao Ming for his early retirement. We all saw this coming. His injury prone gigantic body is the true culprit. Now the question is what does a man like Yao Ming do for a job after the NBA…?
