NBA is one of the famous entertainment industry in the world today, thanks to the athletes and franchises who’s been part of this success. Every generation has its legacy and every decade has its mark. Let us see the top five players who played basketball with finesse, power and with charisma which made them so great and made this sport so famous and brought it to its finest.

Fifth on the list is the King Lebron James, right now he is on the fifth position but surely as the years go by, he will improve so much that there is a great possibility that he may pass even the great names in the NBA way back before he was even know how to play basketball. Today he is the best athlete on the league even surpassing Kobe (Reasons why Lebron is better than Kobe). He can be a deadly scorer, a lockdown defender(Top Ten Most Defensive Player of the NBA), a distributor and a team leader. This guy has many more things to contribute in the NBA in years to come. With so much speed and power and court knowledge, there would be no one in this generation that would surpass Lebron James Greatness.

The fourth guy is Larry Bird, the hall of famer from Boston Celtics. He’s one of the best ever forward who ever played the game, a great team leader and also a nasty defender. He won several MVP trophies and one of the greatest NBA players whoever made the NBA on its Fame on his time.

Third would be Bill Russell, also coming from the Boston Celtics, he is one of the best centers in the league starting from its origin until now. A five time winner of the NBA Most Valuable Player Award and a twelve time All-Star and the center piece of the Celtics Dynasty.

The second greatest NBA player is the guy known as the Magic Man Magic Johnson of the La Lakers, rival with the Boston Celtics forward Larry Bird, together they have made a clash of dynasties which made the game popular everywhere. He is a 6’ 9″ point guard which led the Lakers to multiple championships.

And the number one player who ever played basketball is no other than the Air, Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls. Multiple MVP trophies with six championships and the person responsible for making the NBA the most popular sport in the whole world up to this generation. Take a look at the

Curly is mostly right. James is certainly better than the likes of Dr. J and Pistol Pete, though. Not having a ring yet proves nothing. He still has half his career ahead of him. And he has possibly had less help than any superstar ever. But any top 5 of all time list must, MUST include Wilt Chamberlain. He dominated the league like no one else has done before or since. Russel repeatedly stymied him in his quests for championships.

But his statistical accomplishments are not only unmatched by anyone, they are not even approached: 100 points in a game, 50 ppg for a season, 37 ppg and 27 rps as a rookie. Far and away the all time leader in rebounds. The only center to ever lead the league in assists.

My list: Chamberlain, Jordan, Johnson, Bird, Robertson or Abdul-Jabbar

5 is not enough and not fair considering all the great talents to have played in this league. You can make a 3 players short list or a 10 one.
    and you can add:
Chamberlain- Duncan- Bryant- West – Robertson- Abdul-Jabbar – Thomas

1.Chamberlin, 2. Abdul-Jabbar 3. Jordan 4. Magic Johnson 5.Robertson 6 Bird 7 Baylor 8 Erving 9 Maravich 10 Moses Malone These players have all completed their careers. LeBron James may havfe many years left if he reamains healthy and is likely to pass most if not all of these players before his career is over so lets just wait and see how it all plays out and then make your pics, way too early now ro put Lebron in his final resting place..

I should include Kobe in Lebrons category also as he will replace someone on this list when he finsihes his career and Dirk could crack it also.

Idk who published this thing but someone should take all of their privledges of writing blogs and articles for the rest of their lives… either this guy is on crack or just loves the akron hammer up his butt but neither of those things make lebron anywhere close to even cracking top 50 players of all time….. just ridicilous. Must be some 17 year old kid who never seen what real basketball was all about but praises these animals who act like they just left the zoo and like they never won a meaningful game in their lives (lebron, wade and bosh)

C’mon son?? LeBron James in the top 5?? The same LeBron that couldn’t do it with his hometown squad so he jetted on em to go play with another one of the other top 3 players in the league.. along with Bosh?? What you going by.. stats? Then why aint Wilt on there?? He got better stats and more rings.. Abdul Jabbar?? The all time leading scorer?? Michael and Magic, yes your right on the strength of them both revolutionizing their positions.. But before LeBron can get on this list he’d have to look over Robertson, Russell, Bird, Jerry West and Shaq shoulders… I mean.. in a top 5 (or 10 for that matter) list, you cant include players that are still playing unless their in the twilight of their career because your not giving any room for injuries (Elgin Baylor, Bill Walton, Grant Hill, Penny Haradaway anyone??) or dramatic falloff to occur.

Lebron will never be a top 5 player. He voluntarily joined another man’s team in their prime to manufacture their titles and greatness. It was not earned the legitimate way. Lebron is not even the best player out of his two player types.

The Best Point Forward would be Pippen and the triple double threat (the player most like what Lebron is trying to emulate) is the Big O. He will never surpass Robertson.

Honestly you all are pretty ignorant about the anti lebron comments. This list is the top 5 basketball players not top 5 basketball careers. That is one reason bill russell should not be on this list. He may have had a stellar career but was undoubtedly not an all time great player. Wilt surpasses russell easily as a player and Lebron is easily a top 5 all time basketball player. He may not have the career that these other guys have had and he may have made a decision that a lot of you liked but if you had to make a team with the top 5 players of all time on it and you chose to not put lebron on it you truly dont know a thing about basketball. His talent, basketball IQ, athletic ability, and overall polished play is easily top 5 of all time. We are talking about basketball playing ability here guys not who had the best career remember that.

Has Lebron win anything already? In my opinion Wade deserves more credit that him (at least he won 1 championship) Undoubtetly Lebron is the best athlete of the league, but he usually takes bad decisions in the last minutes of the games. Let´s he what happen with his career to list him in those positions (for me Bryant clearly deserves a better position in that list that lebron: He won 5 champioships, the 5th scorer ever, …, and wven with those numbers in my opinion he is not in the top 5)
