The moment we’ve all been waiting for! La Lakers verses the Orlando Magic! They’re both very good teams and have strengths and weaknesses. But, who do you think has the edge of winning? Let’s look at some of the weak and strong sides of LAKERS.
The Lakers
No one has ever doubted that the Lakers will make it to the finals, but why are they so good? This is because of Kobe Bryant, the very….um talented player. He is an excellent shooter and a good driver. He knows how to go inside and make his own plays or get fouled. And when he does get fouled, too bad for the other team.
Not only is there Kobe Bryant, but there is the whole Lakers Roster. Pau Gasol, for instance, is probably the best Spanish basketball player on the planet! He is a tall, aggressive smart player that can lead the team to a very successful game. Even if Kobe was not there to score his 40 points, Pau Gasol is there. However, we can’t call him a leader. He has shown that he is a secondary backup star for the Lakers.
The Lakers also have a talented Mr. Fisher, the basketball vet. He is very much like Kobe, but he is less well, consistent. Odom is also a talented player on the L.A. Lakers because he is very much like Pau Gasol. Maybe not as a good shooter, but just as good when he’s inside the paint.
Weakness
You might say that the L.A. Lakers are the best team in the NBA, but they have ONE major weakness. The Lakers get very frustrated when they are losing by a lot and they are in the last quarter. They hate it when a team plays very good defense. For instance, the last championship was hell for Lakers because of the Celtics defense. Nobody could mess with Garnett, Pierce and Perkins. And their offence, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, also known as the three brothers. What the Lakers do at such a time is always give the ball to Kobe, thinking that he’ll poof up some magic. But Kobe gets so frustrated that he makes sloppy plays and gives the opposing team air balls.
