A little overview of the 2009 NBA Playoffs. Includes my predictions and some opinions about the match-ups.

This years NBA Playoffs are highly anticipated and very unpredictable. The West is fairly stacked; bringing two veteran teams to the table. The (1) Los Angeles Lakers, and the (3) San Antonio Spurs. Along with several young inexperienced teams; being the Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Hornets, and of course the Portland Trail Blazers. That wraps up a pretty interesting West bracket, but the best is yet to come. The East! The East this year is a flurry of Supernova teams; the (1) Cleveland Caveliers (my personal pick to win it all), the (2) Boston Celtics (the defending champs), the (3) Orlando Magic (superhero shooters and superman himself), and the (5) Miami Heat. Also the very experienced, dangerous, and highly underrated Detroit Pistons made the cut. As well as one of the younger up-and-coming teams in the league today, the Chicago Bulls.
Who also have this years Rookie Of The Year, in Derrick Rose. Now for my predictions. For the West, first round: I like the L.A. Lakers over the Utah Jazz in 6 games; Denver over New Orleans in 6; San Antonio routing Dallas in 5; and the Portland Trail Blazers outlasting the Houston Rockets in a tough 7 game stretch. For the first round in the East: I have the Cleveland Caveliers squashing the Detroit Pistons in 4; Boston’s experience and leadership over Chicago’s youngens; The Magicians make Phili dissapear from the playoffs in 6; and the Heat make the Hawks extinct in 7. They will be back next tear though, don’t worry ATL fans. Here comes the second round for the west: It will be Kobe and the Lakers beating Portland in a quick 5, and the Spurs losing to The Nuggets in 6. Now the East: Once again the Cavs will pull through with a fast 4 game spread.
This time their victoms will be the Heat. Lastly, Boston’s year will come to an end in Orlando due to the loss of the third Musketeer, AKA KG. This leaves two amazing matchups. L.A. vs. Denver in the Western finals, and the Cavs against the Magic in the East. Coming through to the NBA Finals will be, without a doubt, the Lakers and Cleveland. Kobe’s shooting and LeBron being LeBron will be to much for the opposing teams. So here we go. The start of the Finals has arrived and its the Lakers against the Cavs in this epic battle of two future Hall Of Famers; speaking of Kobe and LeBron again. This years champions will be crowned rightfully so, to the King and his fellow teamates. It will be a 7 game nail biter, but LeBron’s play on offense and defense will prove to be the best since Jordan’s. Yet he will be a great teamate in the process. To me, the Lakers are a one man show, Kobe. He is obviously the best shooter in the game, but he is not neccesarily a great team player, unlike LeBron. He would rather throw up a three with two defenders all up in his grill, than pass it forward to a wide open Bynum or Gasol. I am not being bias at all, whatsoever. In fact, I am a Charlotte Bobcats fan. Watch out for them next year! They might make the playoffs. Thanks for reading!!
