Allen Iverson Welcome Back

Allen Iverson is one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. He still has a lot to offer to any NBA team, just look at what Brett Favre has done with the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. Iverson has played 13 seasons in the NBA, a number I can see in me because I’ve been in the United States for 13 years. I basically grew up watching Iverson year after year and he’s the only reason I ever started watching the Philadelphia 76ers. He made the game interesting and fun to watch. I still remember him playing with Dikembe Mutombo, Theo Ratliff, Jerry Stackhouse, Derrick Coleman and Eric Snow like it was still yesterday. He’s a 10-time All-Star with 4 scoring titles, that’s a feat a lot of players hope to accomplish during their NBA careers. So I’m glad to see Iverson back in a Sixers uniform because that has always been his team and that should be the team he should be with when he retires.The last time I remember Iverson with the Sixers there was only room for one A.I. and that was Andre Iguodala. I felt the combination of both wasn’t working because both wanted to be great players on the same team. Now it’s different because we have a mature Andre Iguodala, who’s an All-Star, and a veteran player, who’s an icon, which is Allen Iverson. If they both can work together as a team than we’ll be seeing the Sixers as a force to reckon with and a lot of teams will have a hard time playing against them. This will be like David Robinson and Tim Duncan, which resulted with the Spurs winning a championship in 1999. In this case Iverson is Robinson and Iguodala is Duncan, and if they both have the same chemistry that Duncan and Robinson had then the Sixers will be winning a championship before Allen Iverson retires. If that happens then we will be seeing Iverson rack up all the votes when it comes to electing him to the Hall of Fame.
