Why the Dodgers Will Win the NL West

The Dodgers have the best record in NL with a 65-41 record. They have a 6.5 game lead over the the Rockies and a 7 game lead over the Giants who have made some recent acquisitions bringing in Ryan Garko and Freddy Sanchez to boost up their offense. I will give you some stats that show how good of a team the Dodgers are and how under rated they are.

The Dodgers do have Manny Ramirez in their lineup but their other hitters are unknown and not feared and they should be because they can produce behind or in front of Manny Ramirez.

Dodgers Offensive Rankings: The Dodgers rank 1st in Average with a .277 average in the NL, 3rd in RBI with 494, 1st in Hits with 1,026, 2nd in Runs with 521 behind the Phillies, 3rd in Walks with 406, 3rd in Stolen Bases with 79, 1st in On Base Percentage with .353.

The Dodgers have a very young pitching staff that’s why you may only heard of Clayton Kershaw,Chad Billingsley, and Jonathan Broxton if you not a Dodger fan. The Dodgers did have bullpen troubles but they made a trade before the trade deadline to acquire George Sherill who had 20 saves with the Orioles.

Dodgers Pitching Rankings: The Dodgers rank 2nd in ERA with 3.59 ERA behind the Giants, 5th in Shout Outs with 7, Tied for 1st with Rockies in Saves with 30, 1st in Least Amount of Hits given up with 824, 2nd in Least Amount of Earned Runs given up with 385 behind the Giants, 2nd in Least Amount of Homers given up with 80 behind the Braves, 2nd in Strikeouts with 808 behind the Giants.

What Do I Think About This: With the offensive stats I gave you I say the Dodgers are the second best offensive team in the National League behind the Phillies who have the best offensive team in the MLB. With the pitching stats i gave you i would say the Dodgers are the best pitching TEAM and I underline this because people might say Giants have a better a pitching staff but not the  better bullpen. People might also say that the Phillies have the better bullpen but not better pitching staff even though they have Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels who hasn’t been pitching to his potential. When i say the best pitching team i mean pitching staff and bullpen.
