Who is the MDP (most Desired Player) in Baseball?

Reason Why Mark Texeira should be the most coveted player in baseball.

I ask all of you this, how many star first basemen are there. I count 5, sort of. I would say Albert Pujols, Ryan Howard, Kevin Youkilis, Carlos Pena (he’s a part DH so hes the sort of), and Mark Texeira. Heres a question for all of you, which of these first basemen is a free agent in this up-coming offseason. The answer would be Mark Texeira. For this, i believe that Mark Texeira is actually the most desired player. Let’s look at what he has to offer for a team. He is a .290-.310 hitter. He proves that he can get hits, and also draw some walks with his .404 on base percentage. He also hits between 30-40 home runs a year. By my calculations, he looks sort of like the model clean up hitter.

Oh, I also forgot the gold glove, wouldn’t want to forget that. How many first basemen do you know who hit home runs, hit for average, and are great fielders. I think Albert Pujols may be the only first baseman who does this better than Texeira. I mean, how many players in any position do you know that produce these numbers. He has show his ability to play in high market teams, like the angels and braves. Obviously two of the major contenders for him will be the Yankees and Mets this year, but every general manager, except the ones of the teams of the players i mentioned above, should be fired if they do not put a single effort in trying to get Texeira. I don’t care if its just calling his agents secretary, every general manager should be trying to pull Texeira in. He is the perfect number four hitter, and he even shows the ability to effect the number three hitter. Chipper Jones was hitting around .370 while hitting in front of Texeira. For the above reasons, this is why i feel that Texeira is the MDP (Most Desired Player)

It would not surprise me if he landed with the Yankees or Mets. Obviously the big contenders are the big market teams, because they are the ones that will probably afford to pay for him. But both the Mets and Yankees do have a need. The Yankees have no first baseman and Delgado is about as old as the pyramids. Texeira would also probe to be a good number four for the Mets and this would probably help Da Wright’s vid stats. He would solve the Yankees needs for a first baseman and also would allow Giraridi to put him in the four hole and then move arod up to number three. This way A-rod would be able to get more at bats.

It is odd that he has been traded so much recently, because he is such a good player. Where do you think he will land this winter?

If the nats dont wanna spend the money(they do have it) than its all yankees, but if no nationals……. than def Al east because he want to play in the best division of baseball
