San Fransisco, CA: Tonight it was an American League showdown at a National League stadium as Alex Rios and Vladimir Guerrero faced off in the finals of the 2007 State Farm Home Run Derby at AT&T Park.

In the previous round, Alex Rios had knocked out twelve homers, but it was all about last round totals to win this competition.

Rios ended up only going yard twice in the finals, which allowed Guerrero to spread his Anaheim Angel wings and fly to victory.

Three quick home runs was all it took for Vladimir Guerrero to walk away with both the Home Run Derby and Long Distance title coming after belting a 503′ shot a round earlier.

Maybe it was the change in ballparks? Last year’s champion, Ryan Howard, was quickly eliminated after tapping out a mere three homers in the first round.

The hosting San Francisco Giants’ fans were probably wondering why Barry Bonds didn’t participate either. Not to worry, he’s due up to bat in the first inning of tomorrow night’s Major League All-Star Game.

San Diego Padres’ Jake Peavy dukes it out on the mound against Oakland Athletics’ Dan Haren to start things off this Tuesday at 8:25 PM (ET) on FOX.
