Comparing Baseball
Baseball is a great example to show comparison. You can either be a pitcher, hitter or a fielder. The two are very different but they both are very important. When you hit you’re trying to score runs, although when you’re pitching you’re trying to keep runs from scoring.

When you hit you’re trying to score runs. You can hit either a Single, Double, Triple, or Homerun. You can also bunt or hit a Grand Slam, a grand slam is a homerun with 3 men on bases. If there is a runner on third you can try a sacrifice bunt or fly out if there’s only one out. Also so you can get a ground ruled double by hitting the ball and having it bounce over the fence.
When you are a pitcher you are trying to prevent the other team from getting runs. You can either Strike out the batter or you can try and make them hit the ball to a fielder. You can throw all different kinds of pitches to try and strike the batter out.
The pitches you can throw are a Fastball, Change-up, Curveball, Knuckleball and more. You can try to get the Hitter to ground out or fly out. One other option is to try to get them out by tagging them or making a double play. A double play is when you get two people out in one play.
When you are on the field you are helping the pitcher try to prevent runs from scoring. When you get a ground out you have to throw it to the base or throw it to the base where the force is. A force out is when the runner must advance and you throw him out at the base he is going to. You can also get men out on a fly ball by simply catching it, but you have to be careful you don’t misjudge it or you could miss the ball. You could also get someone out on an Infield Fly out. That is when the ball goes high in the infield and there automatically out.
There are great differences concerning Pitchers, Batters, and fielders but they are all very important to the game of baseball. Sometimes you’re team may be Hitting and trying to score runs. You’re team could also be Fielding and Pitching and trying to prevent the runs from scoring. There are many different types of hits and pitches to throw in the game of baseball so there’s always something new for you to try to achieve.
