Leryn Franco finished 51st on the 2008 Beijing Olympics and, well, this time no one is expecting her to do much better at this year’s olympics. But you don’t need to win to get fans and especially if you’re Leryn Franco.
“My situation is different from most of the other javelin throwers. I am not just an athlete. I have to be honest, my career is really in the media.”
Some female athletes would complain about their looks instead of their skills helping them get famous. Leryn Franco obviously loves the attention she’s getting and she can admit that she wouldn’t be as famous as she is now without her body.
“It is flattering to me that people find me good-looking and enjoy seeing me wearing good fashion items.”
Franco made an appearance in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
